Want to ask about strings, maintenance, amps, mics, or comparisons of different guitars or any music equipment? This is for all threads related to music equipment.
Gonna try out some Medium ej17's for a change and was wondering if i need to have my nut filed or anything for the additional size. You guys just string your guitars up with med's or did it take some modification? I'm using a Martin DR that i've always played ej16 lights on.
Random movie quote to make you seem hip and "with it": The food court is downstairs. The cookie stand is upstairs. It's not like we're talking quantum physics here.
i didn't think so either but when i got mine i told the guy i liked mediums better and he went into a huge lecture about how i needed to get it adjusted yada yada yada
Yeah the place i bought it from is a martin dealer and service agent. I've had it setup and worked on by the guy there and it's good, I was just wondering if I could just pick some up on the way home and string it up when i get home. But i'm beginning to think that it has to be completely resetup. I mean more pressure means that more than likely i'm going to see a higher action that needed which will make the guitar feel outa whack, and the nut might pinch the strings too tightly so I'll prolly just take it to him, he's done alota good work on my guitar.
