I picked up my new guitar today. An OM-09FM. My camera sucks, but it looks and sounds sweet. I always had a bad misconception about maple, but I played this and damn it felt good.

I'm getting electronics within the month. I wish I had a better camera.

ahhhhhhhhhh you have no idea. And awfully bassy for a maple guitar. Solid Sitka top. Sounds so fucking good. I love getting new guitars.
The best part is, I played the 3600 dollar 814 at guitar center, then I went to the local Luthier/Larrivee dealer and play this 09 series at a modest $1267 and it rocked the Taylor's socks off. I bought this baby cash. Look at me America. Look how Tron is livin, fo' the citayyyyyy.

Like all guitars, it depends on the wood. Darker woods like rosewood and ovangkol (sp?) tend to be bassier while brighter woods like maple tend to be brighter.
However, I will say this. Larrivee is the only brand of guitar I have played, where every single guitar they make impresses me.
