yeah, i've got a D&T show, i think its from feb.17th. 1997-paramount theatre.denver co. i've got a couple of d&t shows but yeah, its pretty cool. he just starts going into it. its funny how some of dave's songs originated from other songs i.e.: recently-broadway show tune/jon denver
the stone-can't help folling in love
warehouse- louie, louie
anybody know any others?

he added that Elvis line for the stone, and he added that louie louie line to Warehouse. Recently is an original Dave tune as well. they didn't originate from anything but Dave's head. :)
good, and you?

i listened to several version of pinball wizard and the classic part of the song (dun un tun tun dun tun) is so close to what is played on deed is done. My point being, how would you know if he wasnt just playing pinball wizard, changed some things around, and ended up with his own song?

Do you know specifically what sparked the writing of the song then?

ok, who doesn't think that the "that's my blood down there" part in warehouse wasn't inspired by the guitar for "louie louie"? and, if you've ever heard a decent live intro to recently you'd know that the intro and verse of that song was inspired by a broadway tune, "they say the neon light are bright on broadway.....you can see the magic in the air."

my point is not that dave is not a creative guitarist and writer, its that he did use some of his musical influences in his own songs and it is obvious i.e. the stone totally goes into the music for "falling in love". this is no way a flame of any sort. i started this thread because i thought it was interesting not because i thought dave was a copy-cat or not creative. dave fuking rules.

have you ever heard the original elvis version???
it sounds nothing like dave!

of course, elvis matches dave when it comes to guitar... :P

recently has the GFR lyrics (some people so)...does that mean that it was written or inspired by GFR???

and loiue loiue...c'mon...the prog. may sound the same, but c'mon! How many other songs use the same chord prog???

well originally i meant for this to be a thread about the song with the Louie Louie part in it, and about how pimp it is.
