Behind the scenes of Dave's usage of the T5 during the shoot

For those of you inquiring whether dave will use the T5 on the tour...

"On march 16 our former VP of human resources Suzanne Pratt called our ARtist relations guy, Bob Borbonus, to report that Dave Matthews was shooting a video for his new album, stand up, in her residential building. Apparently, the production company rented all the residents' parking spaces and basically took over th3e building for the duration of the shoot. Borbonus called to check it out and was asked, "How did you know we were doing this?" Apparently, the video shoot had to be done by 5 pm. so Matthews and band could fly to Australia for the start of a tour. Suzanne met DAve's guitar tech at the shoot and he told her, "All our Taylors are on their way to Australia, so we had to choose between the [other brand] and the Taylor T5. Dave went with the T5..." Wood and Steel Volume 44.

because he was more or less forced to use this guitar, i would say chances are not good.

Thanks. Why does he seem to have such an aversion to playing Martins in public now, even though that's what he plays on studio albums..?

Taylor says to famous artists, "we'll give you this guitar, plus royalties, if your seen playing it." Then all the freaky-freakies come out of the woodwork and buy Taylors because they see Johnny Superstar playing a 914. Thats why I hate Taylor.

How dare Taylor be business savvy. Don't hate Taylor, hate the people that buy Taylors just because Dave uses them.

As far as I know Taylor doesn't pay any artist to use their guitars.

I like the kind of guitar the T5 is but I have never played the T5.

I like the way Taylors sound and feel. I just hate the electronics. Well at least the ES blue. Damn thing picks up radio. I have to call guitar center and complain.

And anyone who thinks about going to Guitar Center to look at acoustics, think again. Their selection sucks ass.

Taylor doesn't endorse artists. I'm sure they help them out in a pinch like this, but they don't endorse anyone, ie, GIVE them free guitars.

i dont know im hopin for the T5, (better than his 914 maybe, anyone?) or that godin multac that was in the studio, or the chet, the first two maybe, the last no. but i can dream
