Electric Guitar Sound

Post by TheDreamingTree »

I just got my first electric guitar the other day. It's a Schecter S1 Elite Series.
At guitar center it sounded good but thats because I was playing it on a good amp. I have a crapy 15 watt amp at my house. Whenever I play it the sound is not that good, it's too twangy and snappy, is there anything I can do make it sound like an electric guitar.

Thanks,
Tim

You might have the overdrive on. Look for a white button and press it and see if it does anything. You can also play with the knobs a bit until you get a good sound.

Are you looking for a clean undistorted sound or a heavy metal kind of sound?

you might want to look at a stomp box or several processors (such as digitech) to get the kind of sound you want on any amp.

I have a 15 watt crate amp, but i was also playing on a 15 watt Crate amp at guitar center and it sounded better. On my amp it sounds to cheesey and twangy. There's also a blue knob with effects and I have it on bypass

You are definitely gonna have to suck it up and either buy a new amp, or an assload of effects. Practice amps just dont give very good sound, or have much versatility.

i think its the schecter, i dont like em... also check and see if you have flourescent lights in the room because that can interfere with pickups and amps

Mess with the tone controls and pickup selector on the guitar, it may not be the amp.
