why do people hate dmb music?

I don't think the problem is that people just listen to DMB singles like Crash and Ants, etc. Those are both solid songs and I would say fairly representative of the DMB. And that's usually how you get into a band: you hear something you like (usually the band's most successful singles) and that gets you to look into it more, buy the album.

And I can't agree with "it's all relative" bullshit. Ashlee Simpson and other pop shitstains on the musical world are bad music; that's an objective fact. People come up with good criticism for that music, like that it's not innovative at all. And while maybe some musically-informed people don't like Hendrix, Stones, etc. (although I've never met one), they all agree that they're still great artists.

My problem is that the DMB isn't usually thought of like that.

Seriously, who gives a shit. And another thing, 99% of DMB fans are complete ass hats. I dont blame people one bit for bashing DMB, if all you hear is crash and space between, and then you see how douche baggy most of their fans are, why would you want to give them more of a chance?
It's just music, not a gang or some turf war, i feel no need to defend a band or the reasons for me liking the band.

My sister bought the Crash album before I did. Only songs she likes are Crash and Let You Down.

A lot of people just hate Dave's voice, which I can totally understand. As for me, I enjoy odd voices, like Matthews and David Gray.

Also, many I know who dislike Dave claim many of his songs sound the same. And to be honest, they do. I'm totally find for that, but I also like bands that experiment a bit. Dave does exactly fuck around with different styles.

One of the reasons people like to take shots at DMB is because these douche-bag fans get their panties in a wad if anyone doesn't kneel at the alter. Who gives a fuck if people don't like DMB or have negative things too say about them, get a hobby. "Standing up for your band" has got to be the queerest thing I've heard all day.
