Maybe we should take a poll. I wonder how many black people actually come to the DMB boards here. Not very many I would assume. Maybe that's why you don't have a protest. Any particular songs you suggest? I haven't heard too much mraz but I hear good thing about him.

Side Note: I love Carter's scating in warehouse...its pretty much scat

more like beat-boxing, but he does that spanish jibberish a litte bit.

As far as Mraz goes, Right Kind of Phrase, 1000 Things, Common Pleasure, 0% Interest (Toca Rivera, the bongo player does a cool scat at the end of the song).....try those out

you pretty much hit it right on...

it's not something you think about or like acquire,

it's just a personality thing. you don't think or learn it, you just feel it and it comes out. if your "feelin'" it, it will sound good. if you have to try at it it will be obvious and sound crappy.

so i guess you could say scatting is a talent, but anyone can do it if they are feelin' crazy/just feelin' good.

I scat, or at least I THINK I'm scatting when our band plays. Usually it's in a breakdown or in this bluesy type jam. I just go for it, and I use Dave as inspiration - see CP DVD to find out why.

Much of what he did that night was so over the top but it was good because of that fact. The best live performers just "go for it".

love the scatting...he threw in it alot this summer, everyone goes crazy when he does it too.......

side note, does dave still smoke as much as he used to? i konw he still smokes stogs but does he still smoke weed constantly?

I would love to smoke a stog and bs with dave for alittle
