To change a bridge or not too ?

Post by VTDreaminwithDMB »

:D I was curious to see if anyone has ever changed the bridge on their guitars. My first guitar is a $300 Yamaha and the bridge pin holes are worn out. I wanted to use this guitar for alternate tunings while leaving my main guiatar in standard. So I was wondering if it would be cost effective. Any help would be much appreciated. Peace :)

Random movie quote to make you seem hip and "with it": The food court is downstairs. The cookie stand is upstairs. It's not like we're talking quantum physics here.

Grock, where are you? He's probably your best bet, hopefully he'll see your post.

i never changed the bridge on my guitar, but i did sand it down just a bit. if you do that, you should be VERY careful.

changing the bridge could be expensive. is it really that bad? i find it hard to believe you've worn down the bridge to the point of needing replacement.

i hate to give this advice but your just gonna have to "bring it to a luthier" to find out.

I wore out the pin holes by putting the pins in too hard. it was my first guitar.
