I'm looking into getting a new practice amp too. I've been looking at the Fender Frontman series and trying them out. They are pretty nice, they have reverb settings and such. Fender makes a 15 watt version (the 15R) for about $100 and a 25 watt one for like $130-40 or something around there.

i got my 15 watt marshall (reverb inc) for about $110. marshall, mesa boogie, and line 6 are the best amps.

VOX is good, just not as good. a friend of mine just ordered a 350watt marshall half stack.. hes going to take over canada with it.

I'm with shane... when my friend was looking at getting a guitar for his first one he got an electric (against my wishes :P)... although i spent a lot of time shopping with him and we landed on the Marshall, best quality of sound and options for under 150... my two cents

I have a little amp that I got from Fred Meyer that I would sell. It worked good while I had my electric. Interested? Like $45 or something

those are all good...but damn...fender makes some amazing amps

getting an amp all depends upon what ur gonna be playing...if ur gonna be playing heavy stuff with overdrive/distortion...then marshall or mesa are the way to go i guess...but if u want some amazing cleans...go with a fender...no amp ive heard beats their cleans...but all the before mentioned is for tube amps

solid state on the other hand, which is the market ur in for 150$, gives u a different tone completely...i had a fender frontman 25R before my hot rod deluxe, and i was pretty pleased with the tone it gave me. My advice to u is save ur money and get a small tube amp, a small marshall if u want a good distorted channel, or a fender blues jr. for some of the best cleans u will ever hear

i agree about the tube amp. if you buy a 15watt tube amp it can play over a drum set. a 15 watt marshall is maybe $400?

I've found that larger Vox amps have a really nice tone to them. And you can never go wrong with a Marshall. Something about the frontman series I've played a few and I am not sure if I like them or not.
