ive seenb him break a string in atlanta, and on the gorge dvd he breaks it in billies, you can tell at the end of the song

Saw him break a string in SFO about a year ago. He just kept jamming string hanging and everything! It was bad ass!

I have an mp3 of him and Tim playing Crush and his guitar just kind of slips out of tune, or was already out of tune and he didn't notice it, cause about 4 seconds into it Dave just stops and goes, "What the fuck was that?" in a funny ass tone.
The best part was he didn't go back and play crush till about 5 songs later.

i have this version of granny (D&T) where he starts and you can HEAR him break a string. he stops. pauses and goes like "that scared the shit out of me! and i almost shit myself." or seomthing. its hilarious. then he's like "yea i'll come back to that later, i'm getting bad vibes from that one. hahaha.

How does dave managed to break three a show? Maybe he's trying to keep Monk on his toes.

i dont think i've been to a show where he hasn't broken a string...One show I went to he broke like 3. if you have crashing the quarter(5-6-96)...watch WWYS, he breaks a string during the last part of the jam, and plays through with that guitar. You can hear the difference, and see the string hanging from the GEETAR, YEEEEHAW!

he broke his A 4 times at the vote for change show i just went to. he was pissed cuz at the end of one song he just turned to carter and was like FUCK! monk was runing all over the place trying to give him the guitar back then it would break again.

he broke it right in the middle of watchtower with neil young but you could barely here it with neil goin nuts.

my friend fucked a girl in a tent once and his string broked..
and he didnt notice it before he was done with his thing..

I believe he broke a string tonight at the Kohl Center, but kept going, and you wouldn't notice it unless you saw it.
