Pig

Post by Carl_SWE »

Hey all! I just downloaded an awesome version of Pig from Kazaa.

I need help identifying it and maybe there is a better version/recording of it somewhere?

Okay, some specs for the file then:

Filename: dave matthews band - pig (acoustic version).mp3
ID3 Tag song/artist: Pig (acoustic version)/DMB
Filesize: 3086KB (3.086MB)
Length: 3:18

The whole song starts with Dave talking about forgiving people and so on. Also, this is only the intro of the Pig album version repeated in a fingerpicked way.

What sucks is that it isn't complete and it's pretty lousy quality.

So does anyone know of a better version of this version of Pig (fingerpicked intro with fill ins repeated over and over) that I could get hold of? Please help!

Perhaps, but I don't enjoy the other parts of Pig as much as the intro.

So it being repeated is a great thing for me.

Okay, I'll try that.

One more thing: The whole song is played with a capo on 1 (tuned up to F# that is)

are you sure dave's guitar isn't just tuned up a half step? They used to tune it up a half step and sometimes down a half step on early recordings..i have no idea why? Maybe he voice

He sucks at tuning. During a record store performance in 1993, it was down a half step because dave said he couldn't tune. I am sure he tried to tune it, and it wasn't in the right tuning then.

Also, dmb has done Don't Burn the Pig a few times, like at Yoshi's.

uhh?why? You said capo one..which is a half step up bro. sometimes dave's guitar was tuned up and down half steps is what I said.. I highly doubt dave used a capo since the only time i've ever read/seen him use one is good good time

and Now that I read that three or four times, i'm realizing you're contridicting yourself.. capo one is F tuning.. Not F#

Maybe it is... Theory ain't really my thing. Anyway, you've just misunderstood my post.

I don't really care to explain it though.
