musically (as a band) i thin it's one of DMBs better songs.
all of the instrumetns blend so well, and carter is the man

lyrically it's one of my favorite songs of all time

guitar wise, it IS my favorite riff of all time

love this song

But I don't like to listen to dark music. I like counting crows and LIOG. :)
i love how neither of those was in the same category

nah im not saying the song is angry...but, see, if you listen to the sounds the words make, its more depressing than, say, ants marching, which is very happy sounding. thats really what i listen to music for, the sound, not necessarily the meaning of the words.

but, yes, package, i do like dmb and theyre probably my favorite band. i could tell you how so many of their songs own but you know that already

yeah i remember a while back someone posted (sry i forget who, tell me if it was you) saying they allowed a well-respected music professor a collection of DMB to listen to and ask for his opinion as a..well-respected music professor. Im pretty sure he said his favorite song was the stone, not due to individual musical talent, lyrics, or anything of that nature, but just how the band crafted it to perfectly blend all of the instruments and vocals. id say the stone is one of my favorite dmb songs, with last stop and recently

and boyds outro is badass

I only hate this song when I try to play it. Lol.

It's an amazing song and in my humble opinion I believe the BTCS is the band's best release of all time.

I too have found this to be the case with this song. It has a similar quality to "Dancing Nancies" where you get a slightly ominous feeling with the verses. Then the chorus comes, and it's slightly more uplifting.

It's a very intelligent song, especially the way the guitar overlaps the drum and bass playing. I have an acoustic version of the song, and the riff doesn't even sound the same.
