Why do you care? If you are right, and he can't play the songs, what will you do? Will it make you feel better? If he is telling the truth, what will you do? Still doubt him?

let's be honest though....we've all played guitar for a while and know what it was like at the beginning... i can't make any judgements/critiques on anyone until i've actually heard a piece of their music...i think that is the fairest way to judge somebody...assumption is not fair

No one has scared me away. Let's get that straight. I'm still here.

And if any of you bothered to read my last post, I said, it might sound a little worse that I expected, but who gives a shit what you all think. I mean, I just wanted to see what you'd think of what I've learned so far. Learning and Mastering are way different. And yes, I had callouses after 2-3 days. I thought I was going to cry after the 4th day.

Most of you probably don't believe that a 17 year old "kid" could learn quickly. But diligence is the only way to become good at something (such as guitar) and God only knows how diligent I am at something I want to be good at.

So whatever, hopefully I'll get some pieces of music up. I won't promise I'm the prodigy I may have made myself up to be. But from what I feel, I've made some damn good progress for someone who has never picked up a guitar a month ago...

Oh and thanks to all you who believe me.

Why do people come onto internet boards and post complete BS? Who the hell knows but its been happening since the first dial in bulletin boards back in the day (80â€™s).

I'm 27, and have been playing for 7 years now. There are no overnight prodigies. That kind of muscle memory, dexterity and 'musical' nuance doesn't happen overnight. From Hendrix to Beethoven, they'd all tell you that music requires constant practice and dedication over long periods of time.

Every once in awhile a guy will pop onto the piano forums and post "I got a Casio keyboard last week and mastered Rachmaninoffâ€

Look, it is impossible to learn the guitar and play DMB material in month end of discussion! No one in the history of mankind could do that, especially with no teacher or textbook. You are just a kid and I am sure you have enjoyed everyone wasting their time talking about you. Why else would you mention that you have only played for a month and know all those tunes unless you wanted it to be discussed, who would care. Why would you not just say "I play mostly DMB tunes does anyone have any suggestions for other songs."
To even play a hacked version of all those songs in a month is impossible. Playing 5-7 hours a day, ya right. your hands and arms would be cramped to no end, not to mention the condition of your fingers.
This is all an issue of credibility and to allow someone to make such a ridiculous statement as this kid has made would effect the credibility of this entire website. Grow up kid and to the rest of you I would do your best to avoid talking about this subject anymore because we all know that there is something very fishy going on in this person's head.

I would more than like to believe the kid it just sounds iffy is all! No bad intentions by saying that I hope it's true! And as for all of you other guys that are just starting out guitar too, you're probably just jealous cause he's better than yoU! :lol:

I'm not saying the kid is legit, but i disagree w/ you on that point. I probably played that much when I began. It hurt like a bitch, but I did it. Of course, I was just practicing switching between chords and the such, but the point remains.
