They need to turn carter up live. alot of his cymbals get lost. plus i just dont think he has enough prescense. watch the carter beauford video, i wish he sounded like that. you can hear everything and he really fills up the sound. if you know what i mean.

or maybe i just don't know how to listen to him, because for the past year i've just focused on the bass. or maybe my speakers are piece of turd. but they aren't. eh

my ears are tuned to the bass for every song.... its nice. 8) haha just like my gf's are tuned to the violin.

depends on what i'm trying to focus on, but now i hear dave more than anything, but then carter - God he's good

You just need to love it and know the sounds and you hear it perfectly. I myself just hear the bass, guitar, and drums. fuck boyd and leroi

I just think they need to turn up the mic on his voice. He is singing second lead on some songs (stay) and you can barley hear him. IMO, he has a better voice then Dave. Very Stevie Wonder-ish. That DVD is about CARTER. not DMB, but Carter. Plus they mix in the music later so that makes it easier. He has enough presence. If you know the difference between you left cheek and right (ass) then you can tell. Its great Carter knows he is a bad-ass. He can just pick his "battles" in songs. that is musicianship.

I think his imitation of the lovely ladies on songs like Stay are pretty impressive actually, he hits those high notes a lot better than I could
