Haha, that's where I got it from, I say it all the time to people. Just randomly, we'll walk into Safeway and I'll just say, "Safeway, welcome to it." Friends look at me weird, but I laugh when dave says it on Storytellers.
i know that's where you got it from, that's why i thought it was funny
I knew you knew I knew where I got it from. Or something like that.
Man, I can honestly say I never really expected a response from anyone, let alone such a heartfelt community welcome. I was a member of the Counting Crows boards for a long time (hate me if you will, but they're my second fave band). And the people on there could be so stuck up sometimes. No offense to anyone who may be a member, but this place just seems so much more laid back, and all about the music and NOT drama. You guys have no idea how much I appreciate that. Not to mention most of the CC fans I met absolutely hate DMB, and I just can't survive in that environment. I can honestly say I am happy I found this place.

This place is quite fond of other bands, not just DMB. Although John Mayer is a different story 8)

Quite true. And I can see the argument there. As talented as John is, I hated going to see CC in concert and having John get to take the second part of the show. I can't imagine seeing DMB in concert, and having them open for John.

we went to the show to see John Mayer but all we could talk about on the way home was how great CC were...they no doubt upstaged Mayer.
Uh oh, more Mayer bashing, haha. I saw CC at the Gorge last summer and John played after them. I left in the middle of his set, I jsut wanted to see CC anyway.
Hey Will, welcome! Glad to see that you're liking it here already, the people here are great. And as for the "no drama," then you better stay away from nDMB, but it's always fun to read Anyway, stick around man, I love it here, and you'll learn to love it too

Welcome to the boards. Like you, I am a newbie here as well and agree that the peeps do seem pretty laid back. I am slso a big CC fan especially the live acoustic based stuff. I also have to admit to liking the earlier JM stuff, purely from a guitar playing perspective. His later stuff IMHO has become too commercial aimed at the "screaming girl" fan base he seems to have. I'll very happily stick with Mr Matthews, thankyou.
