My friend Betsy is obsessed with her. I've only ever heard Gravel and some song about a wife that isn't loved by her husband, she plays it with capo on 4. She's not bad.

I have to disagree that she does not like men....she was married at a time in her life and she still does like men. She is a HUGE feminist but she is also very political and she is not afraid to admit it. She openly speaks out against our government and the way things are run. I have been fortunate to see her live many times and it is so powerful.

just my two cents- Nick

i agree with nick...she was married and recently got divorced, i think. i don't remember...haven't kept up with her in ages. she's great at fingerpicking...a lot of her songs are strange, and it took a while for me to get into her. like, a year. my friend had recommended little plastic castle (is that right?) to me, but it took me a while to finally get around to listening to it, but i related to it a lot. bought dilate later. listened to reveling/reckoning recently.

anyway, yeah, i'm a fan. not a huge one, but it's what i listen to when i just need some raw emotion music. excellent voice, too.

nice to know there are some people in the community listening to her besides angsty teenage women. ;)

Ani is pretty fucking cool. I saw her a few years back, and she was pretty much strung out for the entire show. Not the best conditions for seeing her, but I really like her stuff.

Not Angry Anymore, Shameless, 32 Flavors, Both Hands, Napolean, Evolve. Just a few starters.

Oh yeah and I highly recommend Joyful Girl, the song that Soulive and Dave covered. Really good song. Damn does that girl use some crazy ass tunings. Drop A anyone?
