not sure if this is the right forum but i have a question on how to convert .wav files to .mp3. how do you do it? i just started recording so im not sure what i need to do. do i need to dl a program to do it? any info at all is appreciated.

Well, I use a separate program called dBpowerAMP (http://www.dbpoweramp.com/). It's fast, easy, and free. You can also download a bunch of other plugins to convert to other file formats (wmv, shn, real, oggvorbis, the list goes on and on).

File->convert

LAME is the only way to encode. Period.

yeah thanx guys. i downloaded the dBpowerAMP and it works fine. when i convert it says "mp3 (lame)", so i assume this is what you mean pittman. thanx again for the info.
