Anyone know?

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Take it easy, Sims. It's clearly not an Ovation. I think he was asking an aside.

Yeah, it's not a Tak. I'd say we're about 95% sure that's a Gibson--look at the headstock.

yeah, and the blurry name that you can see on it looks like it starts with a big round letter, so if it's not an Ovation it's probably a Gibson

Does anyone know if that guitar was listed in the Dave's Gear section (which is now down)?

ya i found the Epiphone PRE-5 which looks like the Epiphone model of it. Judging by the headstock and the stars on he neck like the Chet Atkins SST, im gonna say its a Gibson, but i cant find it anywhere.

Its also not on here: http://www.geocities.com/dmbguitars/

it's starting to look like it could have been a custom made guitar. does anyone else think so?

I believe it is a Gibson Chet Atkins SST in Black. Probably around low to mid 90's. I know they have a solid body that has the same star inlays on the fretboard.

It can no way be a Chet Atkins SST. Chet Atkins are solid bodies, this is obviously a deep hollow bodied. Also the Chet has a dreadnought shaped body, this is a jumbo. It is a discontinued Gibson model (I could not for the life of me find the model number), but the Epiphone PR5-E is the exact same guitar. It also does not have stars on it, it has a split diamond inlay. Most likely this is not Dave's guitar but loaned or borrowed for the performance like the Gibson Byrdland or the Taylor T5.
