an album with the best versions of these songs would be up to par in my opinion

If I Had It All

Pretty cool interview with Dave, somewhat related to the new album.
"We have months of music that, with a little focus I suppose we could finish, but I think we'll just let that album write itself. We got some good songs we're working on, and worked up a song we've been wanting to play for a while today..."
Dave also says he wants to release a studio Eh Hee through itunes, possibly with a video

DMB to Skip Winter Tour Tour News

For the second year in a row, Dave Matthews Band will not be hitting the road while the snow falls. While the band is already playing a show somewhere on November 12, and the possibility of a couple other random dates being thrown in still stands, a tour run for the Winter is out of the question. Most fans will agree that the combination of the strong Summer 2007 Tour and new information suggesting Dave is writing "a ton of material" grants the band some well-deserved time off.
While recent songs penned by the band, such as the recently revealed A Dream So Real, being termed as "the tip of the iceberg" of Dave's recent creative explosion, the path to the band's next album is not as clear. DMB and Stand Up producer Mark Batson have parted ways for this latest project, and as of yet, another producer has not been pegged. The current focus for the band is putting a strong finish into their current Summer Tour, and plans for the studio will be laid out after the tour wraps up.
Fans clamoring for the next iteration of Live Trax reportedly will not have to wait long; rumor has it that Saratoga Performing Arts Center will soon have its turn for official release treatment.
The band wraps up its Summer Tour this upcoming week at the Hollywood Bowl, and the word is that they plan to go out with a bang, plethora of guests and all. Tickets are still available, so if you're in the area, or have the ability to be in the area on short notice, grab them now!

Gianni, have you heard anything about this "creative explosion" that Dave has supposedly been having?
Nah, but I've been out of the loop and not paying much attention. The last cool little thing I heard was that the rest of the band did not want to tour this year, but Dave convinced them. Which must mean Dave has got a lot of drive in him still.
