They helped me learn a few songs. Thanks.

Pat made a comment about hating to see people waste their talent doing covers. My answer to that is not everyone doing covers can create their own music.

I can play a lot of songs, I can learn most things given time, but I don't "get" music. You (Pat) has that creative ability in you, others don't.

As far as singing and playing, I find Dave's music to be extremely difficult to play perfect, but there are a few cover bands that do. Why if they can play DMB's music so perfectly, can't they create their own stuff?

He is a dave matthews cover artist and a good one.

Personally, I am not musically IMPRESSED by that - lack of creativity, etc. However, this guy is so good, i am ENTERTAINED by him.

So keep doin your thang dude. If you have something to say, write some tunes and say it.

Probably because, unlike you, they don't spend all day on the boards trying to think of witty comebacks and "research projects" to impress us with.

i just had no interest in the thread until it got saucy.

then i decided to offer my opinion - i said i wasn't musically impressed. that's not exactly kissing his ass.

sorry man. It wasn't really directed at you. I just quoted you for some reason. What you said is not kissing ass obviously, it was a good comment.
