Hey guys. For a while now, I've been thinking of writing up a tutorial or something concerning recording gear and even some microphoning techniques.

This would include gear recommendations and help, sort of like what Mangold put together up top.

Thing is, I'd like to have some community in this project so everyone can benefit and everyone can learn. I feel like I can get together a pretty solid base to start us, but it'd be great if everyone could contribute their experience with different mics and preamps, etc., what they like and dislike, sound, and anything else.

So if you're interested, post it up in here with any ideas you might have. I don't know if I would want to do it in price ranges like Andy did, just because recording gear, I've found, is a lot less definite in quality of produced sound than are guitars.

Alright guys, I've started on it.

I think first what I'll put up is a tutorial on microphones and techniques, then we can go toward gear recommendations/pairings, and any other recommendations you guys have.
