I know this isn't the trade depot, but those guys are advanced and all i want is a copy of a show...not a whole freaking cd case full of dave shows. so if anyone can help, im looking for a cdr of DMB 7/11/02 Raliegh. It was my first show. ALL i have to trade is 3/29/03 D&T in boone nc. sorry for using this forum, but no one would answer me in the trade depot. Thanks for any help i can get.
Well, first off....no one is too advanced for anyone. Some people might have traded more and know things....but everyone is here to help you out, I promise. If no one has replied it's probably becuase no one has the show that you want.
NOW, saying that...go to http://www.antsmarching.org/ and you can download the show(as long as you are on broadband). Do a search about SHN files becuase that's what they are...The files are HUGE and I'm sure someone with a little more time will explain it........or go to http://www.etree.org and you can read up all about SHN's and trading. ENJOY!!!

SHNs are large lossless music files. You will need to convert them to wav files in order to burn them and listen to them in your CD player. You can get a nice, simple SHN converterhere. Drop your SHN files into the converter and they will convert to wavs. Now burn them to disc and, viola! You have a show on disc. You can duplicate and trade shows as wavs or make a data copy of the SHN files and trade those. NEVER trade mp3 files.
I personally, like to burn the SHNs onto disc as data so I can free up the space on my hard drive. I also prefer to get my shows in SHN format. This isn't neccesarily true for everyone.
If I want the show on my hard drive I will, FOR PERSONAL USE ONLY convert the files into mp3 and leave them on my hard drive. DO NOT trade mp3 formatted shows. The quality is much lower than SHNs and you will make people very angry if you do. Do not pollute the trading pool with mp3 shows. This cannot be stressed enough. Mp3s are fine for yourself, but not acceptable for trading.
