well, i just returned home from a hell of a weekend in the city with OAR and Matisyahu. This was the first time ever seeing OAR let alone being in MSG, and i must say i was dissapointed. in my personal opinion i feel that oar's music cant even begin to be compared to greatness of the dave matthews band.

Reasons why i felt the show was decent and not great...
- i wasnt too familiar with OARs new stuff, listened to the CD once or twice through a couple days before the concert...but it just seemed like everything sounded so repetetive, it seemed that a lot of the songs just werent as upbeat as the old ones, ya know, not too many songs that you can totally get into. major complaint...oar is boring. not enough diversity in the sound of music (excluded the sick little sax parts you get here and there)

ive seen tons of jamband shows ranging from moe and phish to blues traveler and virignia colation, and i unfortunately although i had a great weekend, this was one of the weakest shows ive gone too.

anybody else catch the concert this weekend? what yall think?

I checked it out...

I thought it was ok...Not GREAT. The OAR fan base is sooo YOUNG its unbelievable. Their shit sounds the same sometimes, but i did enjoy Hey girl, black rock and of course poker.

I scalped tickets, got very decent seats, section 7 on the floor for $50 bucks.

Decent show, a couple of good jams, and Matisyahu came out for one of the encore songs and pumped it up with his hisidic jewish raggae which i enjoyed

I saw them on Conan as well.. boy did they suck. I've heard some of their prior albums that were "eh"... but this concludes my decision. OAR is awful.

very very good point. exremeeeely young. they shut the damn beer line down a half hour within the show because "underage kids were buying beer". i knew there had to be a reason for the dozens of 15 year olds i saw with beer in their hands. when your 16 you dont mind paying 7$ a beer haha

Does anyone think that Matisyahu wasn't hacidic and didn't bring his faith into his act, that he would not be famous.

I don't care how good the band is, that would ruin it for me. Plus I don't drink at concerts. But anyway, I havn't been listening to OAR for long (Like 2 days now lol) and I like alot of their songs (Hey girl, risen) but can already tell that they have a specific sound that they don't vary much, so I don't know how long I'm going to be digging them, but as of now I'm liking them, and their live CD that I heard sounded preatty good.
