DMB Road Crew?

Unread post by magic2584 » Fri Apr 07, 2006 12:16 am

I don't know if anyone here would know the answer to this question or not but here goes:

I wanted to know how to go about getting a job on the DMB road crew as part of the video production team. Is there anywhere to send a resume, or anyone to contact?

Any information on this would be greatly appreciated.

Look for an email adress on the official site under the road crew section, you might get lucky...

dude lemme tell you something, if you do get it. tell me how, cause that is seriously my dream job, too young right now but in the future... i mean you get paid to spend your summer touring the country for free while each night you do something you love, while watching the band that you love... i would LOVE that kinda job.

I would work their soundboard for free if they let me. Just to be able to travel the country with a group of people that love what they do. Wow that would be great.

The turnover rate for those jobs with is very, very low. You have to start small and do grunt shit at a venue/arena first to get experience and then people make you offers if you make a good impression. My good friend Chris tours Europe and the United States doing crew work and most recently had a hand in setting up the Stones at Fenway Park, I think he's out with Baby Strange now but more in a soundman capacity.

Write them a letter, NOT an email and ask them how you could get a job? What's the worst that could happen, they send you the letter back or something, give it a try.

I remember reading once that all of DMB's main road crew has been with them since pretty much the start. They seem to be a very tightly knit group. Now, as far as the lower level positions go; I would assume most of them are spoken for by friends/relatives close to the band and the crew. I don't mean to discourage you, but that's normally how these kind of things work out.

Wait till the next election and see if they do that youth speaker thingie again.
