June 15th @ Blossom

Unread post by Cor » Tue Jun 07, 2005 8:50 pm

Who here is going to the Blossom show and has been there in the past? I'm driving down with my bro and a few friends from Michigan, and was wondering what the venue and crowd was like. I've seen that it's won some awards for it's structure or something, but I'm still curious as to what it's like.

I wish I was, but I'm having heart surgury the day before, so yeah.

I talked to a teacher of mine who went a few years back to blossom. She said it was her favorite venue (over scranton, burgettstown, va beach, and hershey). Its like a huge field apparently. Don't take my word though, I'm trying to remember this from a good few months ago.

I've been there a few times. It's pretty nice, but I thought Germain (Polaris) Ampitheater in Columbus was a lot nicer. It's not really a field at all. Just a regular Ampitheater. The sound under the pavilion is awesome, thats where I will be. :D

I'll be there jamming it up! Can't wait to go. And accoriding to http://www.DMBAlmanac.com the venue has won awards for the structure, or something like that for the ampitheatre. So it's a great place to see a concert.

Yeah, sweet, I'll be on the lawn.. :(
We were going to get pavillion seats, but by the time we decided to make the trek to cleveland for a show, there was a 4 ticket limit for pav. seats, and we had 5 people going.

Here's something I guess you guys who've been there could compare it with- I've been to Riverbend and hated it. Is there a big difference between the two?

I can't compare it because I've never been to Riverbend... However, from what I've heard, Blossom is better. The only thing that sucks at Blossom is the price of beer, and the parking lots. Theres about 700 different lots (not really, just exagerating) and they all suck. It'll take you at least an hour to get out of the venue.

Riverbend is awesome, but I thoroughly enjoyed Blossom better, because it is more wide open because it's in a National Park, and Riverbend is a little cramped because it's right on the river. But the atmosphere for Blossom is better, so I prefer Blossom to Riverbend. But they are 2 great places to see concerts.

Took me 2 1/2 hours last year, but I was right up by the gates.

Well, I'm 16, so I won't be drinking, and at Riverbend it took forever to get out of the parking lots, as well. Probably about 45 minutes to an hour. Thanks, bro.

BYOB and bust it out in the lot. I wouldn't pay $39.95 for a beer anyways.

I highly recommend not BYOB. Last few years a bunch of people have gotten busted in the lot for drinking. I'm probably not gonna drink at all, just smoke a few J's.

BTW, I can't wait for this show tomorrow night. My friend and I will be getting there around 5-6 and we'll be sure to smoke an eighth.
