Question about selling a guitar?
Now that I dropped an assload of money on my Martin I'm looking to sell my old acoustic. Its a fender DG-20CE. I think brand new the list price was 580. The only problem I ever had with the guitar was the action was too high and since getting that fixed it sounds better now than it did 4 years ago when I bought it. I'm not really looking to sell it on here but I wanted to ask you all what you guys thought would be a reasonable price to ask on craigslist or something like that. If I sell it back to a chain store they will only give me 100 bucks store credit and I'm pretty sure its worth more than that. What do you all think? It's in close to perfect condition. I think there is just one small knick in the finish.

Re: Question about selling a guitar?
I owned this guitar a few years back and hated it. The action was impossibly high and the tone was tinny. I think I bought it used (if you consider it being played maybe 10 times used) for $150, hated it, bought an Alvarez, then sold the Fender for $150. I looked around and that was the general going rate. Try ebay with a reserve if you really think you can get more. Advertise in your local paper and/or shopper or craigslist like you said. Maybe I just got a "bad apple" but it played terribly and sounded worse. Hopefully yours sounds eons better than mine did!

Yeah, I learned to play on it, once I started playing better I realized it didn't feel or sound great but since I got the action lowered I think it sounds great. All of the recordings I have posted except the most recent ones have been from this guitar.
