So I've finally gotten fed up with my crappy usb interface that I use now for recording and such. I've pretty much decided I need a new one. I'm looking for an interface to record vocals and guitar and a hand drum possibly. Nothing too technical.
I'm in the range of about $300. So I come before you, asking which would be the best option:
The mbox mini-$295

According to reviews I've read, the mic preamp in this guy isn't the best but it does come with pro tools software. Right now I'm rockin garageband.
TC Electronic Konneckt 8- $299

Comes from a reliable brand name and uses firewire (faster). It doesn't come with software of any kind but seems decent.
M-audio Firewired 410- $299

M-audio has good, reliable products for the most part. It comes with some kind of recording software but I'm not sure how good it really is.
Presonus Firebox- $299

These have been praised in articles I've read for their quality preamps. The box comes with Cubase LE, but apparently that program only works with Windows.
Focusrite Saffire FireWire- $299

According to many reviews, this little guy comes with very high quality preamps. It doesn't come with any software but has a built in DSP (whatever that is). There are some issues regarding its reliability though. Not sure how well it's build.
So there you have it. Also I'd like to know, does Logic Pro require its own interface like protools does? If not, I'll need to snag that one, I've heard good things about Logic Pro.
Thanks ahead of time.

Firebox or Konneckt 8.
All of these should interface with most modern softwares without issue.

This instructor at my music college recommended the mbox mini because it came with pro tools. According to him, pro tools only works with it's own interfaces. But Logic Pro should work with any interface right?

Pretty sure that's accurate.Banjobach wrote:This instructor at my music college recommended the mbox mini because it came with pro tools. According to him, pro tools only works with it's own interfaces. But Logic Pro should work with any interface right?
My vote is the Konneckt 8!
Do I listen to pop music because I'm miserable or am I miserable because I listen to pop music?
