Here is something I improved (as always) on the fly in my room.
One track with a melodic delay and distinct clarity.
Jason, you said you wanted to here the actual guitar playing withought effects...this is close to it minus the reverb and delay (done modestly).
Give me some feedback on what you think, and remember...%90 was improved as I was recording

Alright, just listened to it a couple times, not super in depth, mind you, but just to get a feel for it. I also really like it. You've got a really good melodic feel in your leads, and although the harmony is somewhat static, it is not boring. It sounds confident in itself, and when the harmonies do change, it's especially sweet given the dominance of that minor tonic. It's something that I could fall asleep to. I don't mean that in a bad way: it's soft and it sort of lulls you into a place of relaxation. What really held it all together is the fact that you had certain melodic lines that popped up in different places and went through variations. Having that common thread to bind it together is very important and works well here. And the reverb and echo are both right on. Good job. You said you lead music at a youth group?? I did that for forever, and I still do, although I'm using a lot of piano now too. You've got a great deal of talent, keep up the good work.
Now when am I going to get a little feedback from you, eh??

Thanks so much for the encouragement tico...it means alot.
I listened to some of your stuff and I really like it...you have a great presence in your voice;nice and confident 8) . You sound alot like John Mayer, but seem to cultivate your own style into the mix...man, you really need to listen to "the art of figerstyle guitar" by Wishbone Ash...now that is some fine guitarwork...but anyway, back to you...whatever you use (taylor 714 right) sounds increadibly clean and professional.
Te prob i faced with the 12 string is that i had to use a seperate pick up, and that caused probs rec levels and all...i had to use a dull sounding preamp to get the levels right...
Anywho, you need to do some covers and put em' up man!
I would like to hear more from you

Yeah, I do use the glorious and heavenly Taylor 714. The really crisp, good recordings were also done in a studio. I plan on posting more stuff this semester. "What More Do You Need" I recorded up in a friends room here on campus. We were able to make the sound floor pretty clean, and he got his hands on a good mic, and then we just used some freebie multitrack software to record. We should have more time this semester to do that, so hopefully more stuff will go up soon.
It's really interesting that you say I sound like John Mayer. More than one person has, yet, in all honestly, I have only heard like 3 of his songs, and only once more than once I think. I really need to check him out. I think the reason that I might sound a little like him is that we're both influenced by Dave, yet I think we both have a better "academic" understanding of music than Mr. Matthews. I don't know...

Unfortunately, I'm not able to download music with file sharing programs very quickly here. Even though I'm on a T3, it takes forever to get music as Davidson has deprioritized programs like Kazaa and Morpheus on the bandwidth so that transfer rates are horrible. I'll check out what I can though. Any reccomendations???

"AWAKEN" live at the house of blues...
"Siberian Khatru" from Close to the Ecge album...
"The Gates of Delirium" from the Relayer album...
this one is a complex 21 min. wonderland that will have you months and even years later discovering more of the genius in the backround
BELIEVE ME, THEY WILL LIKELY BECOME YOUR FAVORITE BAND ONCE YOU HEAR SOME STUFF!!!

Do you know of Sigur Ros or God Speed You Black Emperor?! OHHH, REEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLY good stuff. Sigur Ros is like symphonic, epic, soaring slow rock, and god speed you black emperor is politically charged post rock.
