cool intro, most people go straight into the song solo, it was cool that you did the intro.
guitar - superb. sounds great, very funky, great sound fromt he guitar, i don't know what it is about theplaying but it's like youre not scared at all, and it sounds really good.
vocals - not bad at all, a little grumbly for me. i know that the song is supposed to be angry, but you just grumbled too much for me. pardon the pun. but it didn't sound bad, just not my taste. you hit 99% of your notes. i think you also overpronounce some of your words, but i too have been accused of the same thing.
great job on the guitar, good job on the vocals. one of your best covers posted thus far. good job.
EDIT: great outro

Hell yeah that intro was sweet , the guitar playing through the song overall is great , the vocals might be a little too grumbly as Apps said it , but still on key , simply a very nice cover , i can't say anything bad about it , except maybe the vocals should be done with a little more natural voice , but its all good , thats what covers are about , and you kinda put a funny tone too it so the cover can actually make you laugh , it made me laugh
Nice work there Ranting

Sweet cover, it seems like you're really comfortable with your voice which was cool...alot of covers people seem like they're holding back and you don't seem to at all...guitar sounds great...any chance of you throwing up a tab of the intro?

intro: like you've heard many times.. the intro is fricken great. is that something dave is doing now or did you make that up yourself? at any regard, i like it a lot. i suggest you stop listening to your song for a day and come back to it. Here's why:
you've been listening to your own version so much that you didnt notice
A) you play it so incredibly fast that it suonds like you're playing a punk version of this song. Fast doesnt always mean attitude... make your clear precise and powerful guitarwork speak for that attitude, dont rely on speed.
B) because the speed is so fast, i think you get your emotional side into this like 1039812903812038210x more then is needed. listen to yourself, man.. you sound possessed. you sound downright silly. like you're a little boy pretending to be a man... calm the song down, and approach it like a song, not a monologue or a talent show. Pay attention here so i dont have to smack you... YOU'RE NOT DAVE MATTHEWS!!!
it;'s ok though, i think we all approach dave's songs vocally like dave does, it's just a habbit because it's how we sing along to his songs in the car, and when we listen...
c) your "too much" sounds like a howl =) but i think if you fix a and b, that will fix itself.
good luck,
x

i wouldnt go so far as to say pissed off. sounds like he's just playing it wayyyy too fast. and having to keep up is putting undue stress on the poor man.

well
using that intro from BTCS was pretty good in conception, but you played it so sloppy that it wasn't very enjoyable to listen to. just way too many missed notes and random mishits.
you did play the song rather quickly, but you played pretty flawlessly otherwise. the only real problem i had with the guitar work was the bridge section. that, like the intro, was pretty sloppy, but my real gripe with that is the lack of any bass notes. it may be tough to throw those in on just one guitar, but it sounded pretty empty without them.
my biggest bit of criticism would have to be your singing, or lack thereof. it was more like yelling and growling than actual singing. this song does have plenty of attitude like xoosh said, but you dont need to try to supplement it with angry snarling. the few notes that did actually sing sounded good and not in the "scary voice".
and i have to admit that i have somewhat of a bias against doing a cover of this song. the song itself relies so heavily on the rest of the band to make the composition sound good. the concept of a single acoustic guitar playing this song has never been very attractive to me. kinda hard to fill the gaps
and i guess i could pull out the old rating system for this one
5/10

I was smiling while listening...I thought you did a pretty good job on this one...I really liked the Deed is Done intro. I don't think that Dave has done that...Guitar was great....and singing, you had multiple personalities while doing this one...you were angry snarling, growling; then you went into an opera singer at the "TOO MUCH!" part....stayed in key which is def a plus...I'd like to hear more from you....oh, and good choice.
