I chose this song since it contrasted the last two I did (Halloween and Tripping Billies) a whole lot. I am basically wondering if I am doing better at the slower or faster type songs, not too concerned with a "professional" critique. It is shortened a little, as I didn't do a keyboard solo, and I missed the last verse (

). Here ya go...

Man, so many views yet so few replies: I must have done really bad this time...

Either that, or with so much bitching about good critiques, everyone is scared to give a review. By the way, thanks Greg.

well i finally got to hear the clip, i couldn't before because of bandwidth prob's, but anywho here's my take on it...the guitar sounds good, you seem to have the rhythm of the way dave plays it down pat, what with the chord SLAP chord SLAP progression. the vocals could use some work, they sound a little off key at some parts. but nothing that can't be improved with practice and patience. overall it was pretty good, and with work has the potential to be very good.

yeah, i know the feeling. my dad always yells at me when i lay down vocals. he either yells at me, or waits until i go upstairs (from my basement room) and then he makes fun of me, funny parents...

open your mouth a little more when you sing, sounds like your doing a step above muttering your words ... (no fear, i have a similar problem, unless i consciously fix it whle i sing it takes over the words). the guitar sounds really good. my only suggestion might be to play the intro with a little more soul, if you understand what i mean... basicly it sounds like you're trying to figure out the notes as you play (barely), because it sounds like it's a little difficult for you to play, but then again, it may just be how you decided to play it.
besides the obvious vocal issues you have (as a new singer, etc... we all have them), it is excellent work. im excited to see how you progress =)
/x

Sorry, didn't get around to re-doing it... By the way, Xoosh, not completely understanding what you mean by playing it with "soul." Do you mean it doesn't sound like it flows? Does it sound choppy? Just wanting to know so I can fix it. Thanx,
