Hooooooooooolllllllllyyyyyyy Crrrrrrrrraaaaaaaaapppppppp!!!!!! I just wanted to announce that I am god. This was from another post, "I'm guessin just a phase from morning view, i miss you from make yourself, deep inside from science. If its one of those then I am God." Anyway, I learned that song today and was planning on covering it, but I won't now cuz it can't match up to yours. It has to be one of my favorites of theirs, because of all the cool picking and stuff. Such a sweet, chilled out toon. Ya gotta love the almost two minute intro into it. It has also got to be one of the coolest vocal tracks ever.
Now onto the cover, awesome. You hit the guitar right on, and the timing was perfect. The absolute coolest part is definitely around 2:22 with the build up, and then the hushed "it's just a phase". That was sweet, you nailed that part right on. Your vocals sounded really good coming from a computer mic. An unbelievable cover, especially considering you recorded it in such a quick time judging by your other post.

So, Thanks.

PS. I may still have the balls to post my cover sometime this weekend or next week. I may wait till i have this one polished unlike my other two.

Do we have another Incubus fan on our hands???? Thanks a lot for the God thing Cave, and I know you rushed it and whatnot, but I really thought it was great. Obviously you are a sweet guitarist, but I honestly can say I have watched a live vid of "Just a Phase" about 20 times today and the thing that impressed me the most was the vocals. For just whippin it together in 15 mins, it sounds unbelievable. BTW, Mexico is another really cool vocal song, a lot like JAP, it would be right up your alley. Not like I would want you to do that TOO, but I'm just sayin thats another song that has cool vocals....Peace

Ha ha ha..we'll see...maybe if I bored and you are a good little boy Santa will leave you a present one morning...

Personally I like "Are You In" that has such a great groove..BUT i couldn't do it because it's all bass and I don't play or ahve one....it wouldn't be the same without the bass...

That's cool Cave, ya know, just steal all my favs. It's not like I went out and bought an MXR Phase 90 to be able to play Are You In? It must have been a total coincidence. Anyway, that would be cool if we collaborated on that tune, I know some of the guitar parts, and I got the equip, but like you I have no bass. But, if I was really motivated I could use my friends Squire that hes used once or twice. That actually sounds like a sweet idea, whatya think Cave. I've never played bass before, but I am definitely willing to learn to record that sweet ass song. Ya gotta help me out, cuz "it's so much better when everyone is in." Peace

Possibly....I don't want to commit myself this early and then not follow through....

I'm not as big an Incubus fan as you are but I do like them....let me know how the bass thing works out then I'll let you know if I can...

Yeah, I mean whatever. I am quite busy myself with track starting and crap. I was just kinda thinkin out loud. I definitely would be able to borrow my friends bass, it's just the whole me using it that might create some problems. But, we'll see.....bye

Cave....awesome job. Do you ever fuck up on your strumming/picking? I have a feeling you pull off these covers with only a couple of takes and that's what I find most impressive.

As for the song, I've never heard it before so I have nothing to compare it to, I just know that your playing and singing was excellent. I'm not an Incubus guy, I only Pardon Me.....love both versions of that tune.
