Unread post by CPTino3001 » Thu Feb 20, 2003 5:07 pm

So here I am recording Slide by the Goo Goo Dolls So you guys can tell me what you think...lo and behold, pop!...i lose a string...

I only made it about half-way through the song, but at least it made for a smaller download...

I have only been playing for about 4 months now...so be gentle...

Thanks

Everybody always asks me how she's doing. Has she really lost her mind? I said "I couldn't tell you, I've lost mine."

ok....sounded pretty good....i'm not a huge goo fan but from i know of the song you played it pretty accurate....nice sounding guitar.....probably would have been great if it wasn't for that dman string...

my only advice.....add some vocals...i don't care if you suck...i ust prefer songs with words...

Peace,

Elixirs

Unread post by CPTino3001 » Thu Feb 20, 2003 9:22 pm

The thing that sucks even more than beaking a string is that I only had a set of Elexirs to replece it with...Now being a D'Addario man myself, that had to be the most disappointing thing to me...lol

Elexirs or D'Addario ?

Unread post by jseymour_va » Fri Feb 21, 2003 1:31 pm

I've always used Elexirs, was told by everybody to use them with an accoustic. Is D'Addario better, that's what Dave uses, right ?

It's all preference. It's like the Matin vs. Taylor dispute. We just like to have with it on these boards.

yeah, certain strings compliment the tone of certain kinds of guitars. For Taylors, the elixirs eccentuate (is that a word?) the brightness of the Taylor tone. For Martins, I think D'Addarios would compliment their rich tone. but its all what you like better. coated last longer but are too slippery for my liking, and seem to dampen some of the natural tone of the string. I've heard that John Pearse strings are even better than D'Addario but they're more expensive.
good, and you?
