DMBTABS TRIPPING BILLIES CONTEST VOTES!!!

Unread post by ticohans » Fri Feb 14, 2003 11:53 am

You know the drill: listen to ALL of the covers posted BEFORE you vote. Vote for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. Vote only once. Do not vote for yourself. You are free to vote whether or not you did a cover as long as you listen to all of the submissions. PLEASE REFRAIN FROM VOTING UNTIL 10:00PM EASTERN ON SATURDAY, AS THAT IS WHEN THE SUBMISSION THREAD WILL CLOSE, UNLESS 1) PEOPLE POST THEIR COVERS BEFORE THE DEADLINE, OR 2) YOU ARE CONFIDENT YOU HAVE ALREADY LISTENED TO EVERYONE'S COVERS IN THEIR PERSONAL THREADS!!!

PLEASE KEEP YOUR COMMENTS IN THIS THREAD LIMITED TO ONLY YOUR VOTES. ANY DISCUSSION OF HOW THE VOTING IS GOING OR ANYTHING ELSE MUST BE DONE OUTSIDE THIS THREAD SO AS TO KEEP IT CLEAN AND MAKE THE TALLYING OF VOTES EASY!!!

Since I'm leaving I'll be the first to vote:

1st Place: Tichoans (gotta love good harmony)
2nd Place: Jason (just a good cover)
3rd Place: juineaux (I love the bluesy feel)

I think all that participated should get Little Blue Ribbons also. Good job to everyone.

Greg G.

P.S. Sorry this is early, but I gotta vote for the people I thought were the best, and i'm gonna be leaving so.....peace.

ok...my almighty opinion   comes into play ... NOW!
everything being weighed and concidered for better or worst (flavor, quality, ability, catchyness, and above all, PRACTICALITY) here are my picks...

1. Gravedigger (best all around cover...i would like to actually sit and listen to you play that one - like in my living room while chillin' - ...just felt very practical and interesting at the same time)

2. Tico (the best vocals by far, but i don't think you need my affirmation to know that it was sweet...awsome guitar work too)

3. Jason (your vocals sounded really nice on this one, but it didn't strike me in the way the others did...amazing nontheless  )

It was hard picking, because they were all REALLY good...many compliments go out to...

GREG
JTR
CAVE
JUINEAUX
BILLY
MIKE
and eveyone who participated...very interesting, but hey :!: I will be in the next one

1. Grave (damn fine my man)
2. Juineaux
3. Tico

I don't think I have to mention that every single entry was incredible. I just got the strongest vibes from these three.

ok my turn now. I'm basing this on what I think was the nicest to listen too - like firedancer says - ability, catchyness and flavor.

1. dmbfanjason (SOLID)

2. ticohans (wonderful harmonies, great voice)

3. cavecricket (guitar sounded fuckin' beautiful)
good, and you?

OK...

1. Gravedigger(you know how I am...he sounded the closest to singing and playing it like dave, which is really what impresses me...)

2. Tico...I really don't think that you can "not" include this cover in any of the voting in at least the top 3...the vocals were good and guitar was solid...although i don't get any sort of feeling from this cover, like i do with dave....like i dont get the dave feel...it just sounds like a good song that I just heard or something??? also I think it is easier versions of each(guitar and vocal)...My "stupid/uncreative" Opinion...

3. Billyweston...third is tough, I would choose prolly BIllywestom...because he plays very nicely too...

there you have it!
