Just Recorded Myself Singing, Yikes

Unread post by jsgksu » Tue Feb 04, 2003 9:26 pm

I have recently been recording the songs I wrote on guitar onto Sound Forge and I though today, Ill put on a Dave cd and try to sing along with it and record it and listen to it. Oh My God, I think I might be terrible, Simon from American Idol would have a field day with me. Is there anything I can do to practice/get better I dont even know where to start, Im just getting to be able to sing and play but I probably shouldnt sing where anyone else can hear me. Anyone out there have bad voice when they started and get some kinda lessons or something that turned them into an alright singer, I need some hope. Thanks.

yo bro...the first time i heard myself sing on a recorder, i thought I would never sing and play at the same time again...but I'm used to it now though....and i have improved some....you probably dont sound as bad as you think you do...

just record and listen to yourself...pick out what works and what doesnt...what has helped for me is thinking about how I would hear myself if I was watching me sing...but I guess the ideal scene would be to not think about anything and just sing, but some of us cant do that just yet...
