How do I take a wav file and make it so that when it plays it loops forever?

if you open up cool edit, on the main recording page (the one with all the possible tracks you can record) if you look at the bottom toolbar, the one with the play, pause , stop etc. there should be an "infinity" sign. you can highlight what you want to loop, and then click that. it will play the highlighted portion infinatley.
if you just click the loop button, it might play the whole track infinitely, but i'm not sure if you have to highlight.
