dreeeeeeeeeeam -- cover from mattyhizzle

Unread post by Matty Boom » Tue Apr 27, 2004 9:39 am

here's a cover of 'all i have to do' by the everly brothers

i like doing these simple, mellow songs because i feel like my voice can handle those and i'm listenable to some of these

so tell me, is my voice listenable yet? other critiques welcome as well

(even from you, rlightrouge!!!)

Matty! Man that was really nice to listen to.

I think you are right your voice is suited for the more mellow songs. You sounded right on. Also I love the oldies songs like that. I was thinking of learning a few myself.

Nice cover man!

I'll be honest with ya, your voice went off key quite a bit on this one. You some control problems that will smooth out with time. Also, I think you have trouble with high notes as well. I can tell you from experience that if you don't belive you can hit a certian note you are gonna mess it up. Be confident with it and really belt it out to get those high notes to sound. Which leads into another area where you could use some work. You don't like to use alot of dynamic contrasts when you sing and that is important to developing a good voice. Otherwise the piece sounds monotone and boring to listen to. It gets you more emotionally involved in the piece.
Anyhow i'm not trying to bash you in any way, just trying to give you some pointers to get better. Just out of curosity, how long have you been singing for?
I'll play it first and tell you what it is later.

i liked that matty -

you voice sounds really niel youngish, i think. sounds like it fits the guitar well

you do sound like you could be a little more confident, but i think that will get better with time. i'm no vocalist myself. i need to get a decent mic this summer and post some stuff.

but killer boots man. keep em comin.

I take every gif I watch (which is A LOT) with a humongous grain of salt. But I don't let that grain of salt get into my eye and blind me to whatever truth can be found in what I'm watching. He is not any worse than any other poster here, and the people who claim he is just don't know what they're talking about. The demonization has gotten ridiculously out of hand.
