i agree they are good skeltons for songs that need something else. They do not really capture the solo guitarist flesh that these kind of need. they are great framework to begin working from though. I recommend listening to the track a few posts up called "one Day" it's really a great example of fleshy, full acoustic stuff... of course i recommend listening to my acoustic instrumental music, but i'm trying to avoid being arrogant and sounding like i know everything... i can say that in the 5 years i've been doing instrumental that i've learned to write music that has lyrics in the guitar... basicly that means write a song that compensates for someone NOT singing... if that makes sense...
My band can get away with this on stage becuase we play VERY moody music (my band consists of myself and another guitarist)... we sound a lot like Tool would if it were an acoustic band, and i think that helps us out... nt that im encouraging you to change your style or sound but i do recommend some tempo variations, adding some personality to your work... dont forget about harmonics... especially if you not utalizing looping and multi track styled soundings.
overall nice work though, rather repetitive but you already knew that.
regards,
X

Dude, words of advice, never look for lyrics, let them come to you. I wrote this sweet as riff and I was looking for lyrics, but all I got was shit. Then. at 2 o'clock in the morning, I just got the inspiration to right about the dreams of what the people who found america were and what theyve come to be with "pop culture". Pretty sweet lyrics too.JacknCoke wrote:thanks dude...lol, all i wanted was just something said from anybody...I have been thinking of putting something together with the first song link...just cant think up a song for it yet...but thanks again, much appreciated
About the instrumentals, tight, sounds great, repetitive as you already know, and quite original. Keep with this song, it could be a good one

ya, i hear what your saying and i did hear that one day track....its funny, i put something down and record it...love it at first and feel like i made some progress, then after a few times listening to it i go "ugg ed"...but lately ive been working with this one and been putting it into a full song with vocals...at first this was just a song i did that had some slapping in it, b/c i have never done that before...just starting to get the hang of it...and yes, i do look at your music as something to work towards.....luckily, ive broken out of the open chords and im going after stuff thats harder, and having some fun with it...Thanks for the reply xoosh, hopefully i can get this thing together for you to have a listen in the near future...

the first one - I loved the cascading effect you have here, so many emotions conveyed with no words - beautiful. wonderful pickin, really nice. there is a sobering reality to this one, feels like love.
the second one - feels like a nice walk. I admire your talent the way you can make the guitar speak with no words. Almost feels like a parting of sorts - feels like sorrow in some ways.
a pleasure to take part in, thank you for sharing your work.
I am more of a crown and ginger myself
