Thanks for the comments guys. I know my vocs blow, but I don't care cause I usually only sing when drunk to drunk people, so it works out great for everyone involved.
That and I couldn't really open up cause my family was going to bed.

Swede: Nice job, even though it was incomplete. You've got a good sense of rhythm and experimented pretty liberally with the guitar lines.
Ben: I've listened to all of your acapella DMB songs on your site, and this is one of my faves. Outstanding work man, everyone on the boards should check out your site, cause you've got some great ones on there.
Mike: That was fuckin great dude! I've never heard anything posted by you, and this was great. Very creative. I liked the little harmonics you were putting in there too, the ringing added a little something to the song. Voice was pretty good, a little off-pitch at very few spots, but generally sounded pretty good. Nice job.
Mitch: I liked the intro, some nice little timmyish lines in there. It sounds like you've got some pretty decent recording equipment, the quality of the recording is def above average. I think the vocals could almost be a little bit louder. Good work.
Graves: I like your voice, you didn't try too much to sound like Dave, you sang in your own voice and it sounded great. Some nice secondary melody lines during the chorus. Great recording, I hope to hear some more from you.
All in all, a great contest, I would have made an entry but I didn't want to play a dave song /shrug. Oh, and Ben got my vote.

i'm PRETTY sure i have this one here on the left of the pic. it's a condensor. it should definetly be good enough to pick up some highs. i think maybe i just suck at the eq and vocal effects.MWR wrote:I'm thinking it's the mic. Are you using a SM57? Dynamic mics don't capture the highs nearly as well a large diaphragm condensers.

i know just how that is!mbgreen wrote:Thanks for the comments guys. I know my vocs blow, but I don't care cause I usually only sing when drunk to drunk people, so it works out great for everyone involved. That and I couldn't really open up cause my family was going to bed.

i picked mikes. that intro was the best ever. haha. and it was played at a nice tempo. most of the others were really slow to me. i really loved that cover. nicely done.
GOOD JOB EVERYONE! i'll critique all of you individually later.

i think my vocals coula been a bit better. i only recorded them once. I was mainly just having fun playing the riff, and i put the vocals so it wouldn't be just guitar the whole time
all these other covers are great. we should do this more often.
i'm digg'n this acapella right now

Man, I think acapella is crap....but ben, that kicked ass.
SWEDE
Needed vocals but the playing was really cool to listen to.
GRAVES
Good cover man, I was impressed. The shortbread was tight. Vocs needed to be boosted at the end. Awesome guitar man, end very very L@LC, I was waiting to hear clapping at the end.
App
Loved the vocals, you were able to throw some soul into the song, I loved that.
Mike
Holy hell...was that one track?
