thats so funny how you say those things...because at those exact times and words when I listened to it, I would cringe and say.."ouch, that was off-key"
I'm sure other people heard them too...but anyway, that was a good critique...that song is so fuckin hard to sing and play at the same time and keep both vocals and guitar "in tune" so to speak...I can't play that one without putting some attention on the guitar part which totally throws my singing off...it's not hard to sing really, it's just playing and singing at the same time thats tough...thanks again....

ok, with everybody critiquing and all the threads about how to critique properly and stuff, I figured I should test my skills out. my first "critique" on this cover wasn't "satisfactory" apparantly, so here's my honest opinion.
Jason, I didn't think this was your best attempt at a Dave song. Like Xoosh said, you went off key a bunch of times but thats not that bad because dave songs are hard for everybody. I noticed that you were having difficulty singing over the guitar parts, but you said it was tough for you. It's tough for me too. anyway, it was ok. but I've heard much better from you. you might get better reviews if you do an easier Dave song like Big Eyed Fish or Gravedigger. I dunno those are just examples.
conclusion: good job overall, man. but you can do better. (IMHO)
peace,
Ken

uhhh....ok grave....apparently you are the only one that thinks it was ok...besides, going by your one sweet world cover that you probably took off by now(because of embarrassment), you really dont have any room to talk about staying on key, much less a critique at all(IMO)...maybe it would be a good idea just to go back to "good job" or "well done" just to save face...but anyway, I guess thanks for taking the time to listen...anyone else?

Wow, why do you think people won't critique others now?!?!?DmbFanJason wrote:uhhh....ok grave....apparently you are the only one that thinks it was ok...besides, going by your one sweet world cover that you probably took off by now(because of embarrassment), you really dont have any room to talk about staying on key, much less a critique at all(IMO)...maybe it would be a good idea just to go back to "good job" or "well done" just to save face...but anyway, I guess thanks for taking the time to listen...anyone else?

I like it very much Jason , what i don't like is your attitude towards everyone .
Your covers are very good , but don't be such self centered as you are , like when you say " If i don't play it , Dave doesn't play it " i mean come on , what kinda crap is that ? You're a good player and singer and in time an even better singer , but when people say anything you go up in a cloud right away .. You post to get honest criticism am i right ? Then accept what people tell you and don't be such a " im the only one " type .
Keep them coming , they are great , i like them
PS this was my criticism , don't take it personal , im just saying what i mean when people get themself pulled up on a piedestal .

uhhh...fire also said it was just "ok", and he has a pretty good ear. speaking of OSW covers. I heard yours and it wasn't that great either. you should definately practice up on that one. anyhooo, you asked for honest opinions so, that's what I gave ya. have you ever thought about taking singing lessons? it might do you some good.
good, and you?

well, as far as fire...he I-med me and said that he said that it was better than "OK"...so whats your excuse now? anyway...maybe my OSW cover was not all that good, but it was certainly better than yours...I would take your own advice if I were you about those singing lessons...and oh yeah, I forgot who's say goodbye cover was better...hmmm...oh yeah, let the scoreboard do the talking on that one...

I could've beat your Say Goodbye if I fuckin' was trying. and besides, well I don't mean to blow my own horn, but if I'm not mistaken I kicked your ass on the Billies cover contest. And I just did it in one take. how many times did you record it before you fuckin were happy with it. prolly 1231234 times.

good, and you?

anyway, people probably voted for you because they felt sorry for you, because I sure as hell do listening to your covers. but anyway...keep practicing and getting nowhere...later

hahahaha...whatever...i know my capabilities of playing are just fine....I have a feeling you are threatened and that is why you lash out at me.
Are you afraid jason? Are you?

Do you realize how predictable you are? No, seriously...do you actaully know? The first thing you attack is guitar playing skills....like I even care....or it even matters....
It's fun to rile you up...and easy at that too.
