for my most recent compliment of your covers, let me suggest that you look in your "two in one" thread or whatever it was called. I said that the stone cover was great, and via a joke said you had no reasons to make any excuses for it.

and yes, the tempo thing is important, in my opinion as well as others (at least johntherevelators). with some songs, when you play them slow, they just break up and aren't interesting. they need that good upbeat feel to give them life. doesn't mean it's a bad song, it's just the way music works. two step is that way, at least with a single guitar and no vocals. just the way it works, and it's not just my opinion.

In that post I went on to say that I liked fire's more though because of tempo issues. You asked for an opinion. I gave it. You can either learn to live with the fact that some people think things like tempo matter, or quit asking for opinions, because it dosen't make sense to complain when people answer your questions.

Ok..I listened to Fire's and his doesn't drag as much as yours Jason. It has that catchy beat that two step should have.

If you were to play it at that tempo then yours would probably have my vote for being better.

But mine of course would blow all other away :lol:

Jason's was good, Fire's was better. But both kicked ass. Jason, I still don't understand your thing about being "exactly like dave." Meaningless to play exactly like dave - but sounds good indeed.

people are allowed to like fire's cover more than yours
it is possible that fire might have done better than you on a song
you have to accept that your not always going to be perfect

yours was good
fires was better
then, you made a much better one and put it in the two in one post

the fact is is that none of yall can play it right(fire or cave cricket), so when someone does, you gotta bash it...it's not all about playing it "exactly like dave does"...its about fuckin playin it "RIGHT"...thats it, that IS the hardest thing to do, hands fuckin down...I played it exactly like fire did a year ago, but then i got better...THAT should win you morons, not some wannabe version that is their own bullshit "style" :lol:

Listen to how dave plays it in 93, 94, 95....I guess fire plays it better than dave does too then huh? listen to fuckin the prism coffee house concert, dave plays at the same pace as me, so i dont want to hear all this bullshit.

I didn't bash yours. I just said that I like it better when it's more up beat.
Fire's was more up beat therefore it meant that I feel that his was better.

That is all man....yours was accurate. Speed it up and I may like it better.
