These are some lyrics I jotted down the other day, let me know what you think.
Right from the underbelly of mother England
The day found contraband and a scheme so grand
Just two men with a grin giving life to a tale
A secondhand clipper ship, tall with rum and sails
The rum was hotter than a Las Vegas queen
But the wind was strong as a constellation routine
A barrel was spared to drown our minds
From the eternal destiny line
A shippment delivered to the new world
Will give then enough cash
To trash, the next ten years
Because only fools adjust their sails
When you can see nothing but blistering sun
The weight of what’s been done
Begins to prevail
The plans were weak and the sextant was bent
The counting of days was a dying event
That much ocean and that much booze
Began to take hold like old religious news
'Remember the pact we swore too
Or dreams await us
At the end of this dark blue
Were long overdue'
Colossal disagreements and a plethora of sea
Began illusions and mutiny to an intolerable degree
They started off as just two boys with nothing
Still no one knows the tale of their suffering
The boat rammed the shore with nothing shut
Just the remains of two bodies and a cigarrette butt
What a universal veil
When a juvenile pirate fails
Because only fools adjust their sails
When you can see nothing but blistering sun
The weight of what’s been done
Begins to prevail...

the success of these lyrics hinge completely on the music behind it. it can either be a sophisticated ballad or a pirate singalong
