Copyright

Alright, everybody in my band and our managers are pleased that everyone likes our music, but are pissed off that I posted without copyrighting. So I already did the poor man ©, and downloaded the rediculously lengthy forms and paid the fee and mailed off the material I put up for you for the legit ©, and everybody who knows the whole deal knows I'll get back one of those eleven digit numbers saying I have copyrighted the music. So if any of the two-hundred forty people who looked at the material are "thieves", and this has happened before... don't bother stealing the material, I'll include this in the original post as well. I may be conceited that I believe it is valuable enough for a producer to steal, but like I said it's happened before, and it's really sad and pathetic.

Also,

Through the grapevine of lying, cheating, thieving agents and managers there is the immaculate Dave Matthews Cover Band Comeback tour. Needless to say, it's a pissing contest between the DMCB and the DMTB. The cover band books one week before the tribute band everywhere they have on their books at half price. I like this because the Tribute band sucks and costs us money, and as you can see by the originals I'm posting we plan on touring behind our debut album, "Identity" by this summer. So they can tour their asses off for nothing as far as I am concerned. But, please keep the comments coming as it will require the NET pay from two shows for every song we do in the studio. With enough positive reinforcement it will help us get financial backing, radio reviews, etc. So thanks again for your comments and please keep them coming.
The DMCB is officially broken up. 2-Step is stepping up to be the next best national tribute to DMB.

Did you mean our original tour to syracuse, or the Cover Band? We all play the same venues.

im pretty sure that what ya gonna do has the same progression as you enjoy myself, and the melody is very familiar (i found myself singing wash uffizi drive me to florenze during that particular part)

you do have some good musicians though, it would be nice to hear some better quality recording though, just using the line in on the guitar doesn't do it justice

Phish

Unread post by 2Stepleadguitarist » Tue Mar 01, 2005 1:10 am

Thanks for your critique, but I just listened to Phish for the first time just to hear that song and I didn't hear any similarity. If anything I'd say that it is tremendously reminiscent of George Clinton. Most of our songs don't sound the same from one to the next.

you listened to the end of you enjoy myself? i think not or you would have definitely recognized the similarities

and i didn't say all your songs sounded the same, i only listened to that one after all

EDIT: and i dont think i'd go so far as to say that it was TREMENDOUSLY reminiscent of george clinton...

So are you guys are going to argue that "Whacha gonna do" sounds a tiny bit like YEM?

Sounds like an intelligent argument to start FJ. *sarcasm*

I love the ...." I think not comment" For you to imply that he didn't listen to it is just hilarious.

i cant point out that they have the same progression?

and the reason i said "i think not" is because YEM is a multifaceted song with many parts, so maybe he missed the particular one i was refering to

and i really dont think this is an arguement, at least it wasn't one until you showed up. he asked for comments, i gave him mine. he can take it whatever way he wishes

Put a little blood in the water...and the sharks start to swirl.

It' looked like it was heading that way. Especially with your last comments.

which ones? none of them were said with any rancor. the guy's band is good, but everyone could use some comments that aren't 100% positive. its how musicians grow

what would have been a non-passive aggressive approach to that? i said what i meant: it sounds a lot like YEM. period. end of sentence. no underlying meaning behind what i said. what about that was passive at all?

NO, that opinion is fine. I should be able to say it sounds just like "little wing" and shouldn't be riduculed. For the second time, Im referring to when you told him "I think Not.." <-----------------------------

On a side note,

Do you really want to present yourself that way?
