The beauty of your mama
just kidding....it's really the beauty of Wynona, but whatever. I was bored after school today so I recorded this. Enjoy, comments are welcome.....it always sounds good on the 4 track, but when I mix it down I can always find something I don't like about it......it sounds best with headphones.....but listen as you will. It's at:

Your voice is clear, but the guitar sounds great. What type of 4 track are you using?gregplaysguitar wrote:just kidding....it's really the beauty of Wynona, but whatever. thanks man......yeah, I've always liked that song and it's ass simple to play, and I took some liberties with the music, I tried using a capo for the first time, so this is in G, where the original is in E, It made my mid range feel like it was soaring, but the higher parts were a stretch for me. anyways, thanks again

I LOVE this song regardless, so it was just cool to see you do this song to begin with...the guitar was good, and your vocals sounded better tthan normal too...
good job

Yeah thats really cool man. I've always liked it when D+T do that song, and with all the cool effects ya got, it sounded badass. I can't say anything about the guitar but awesome. The vocals are pretty much the same way, I have never heard you before and thought this was awesome. A really cool cover. Reminds me of how DMB does their covers, like how some of them are a lot different than the originals but sound real cool.

wow. it sounds INCREDIBLE. my only complaint is it seems REALLY muddy for some reason before your voice comes in... your singing is rock solid to me. what equipment are you using... guitars, mics, etc.

hey Greg. I listened to your first version but I can't listen to your revised version because I'm home now and this computer doesn't have speakers
anyway, I thought it was great. you say you play it in G instead of E, do you put a capo on the 3rd fret and play on E like Dave, cause I really like that open E chord sound. its a little more rugged than if you played an open G without the capo. anyway, I can't say much more about since it is a simple song but you did it well and your voice is really nice and pure, however since it is pure like that, its easier to notice when you go of key a little bit. (for me anyway) but nobody's perfect, not even Dave.

good, and you?

for Xoosh, I use a Boss Br 532 for the recording individual tracks, then I use cool edit for mix down and effects, my mics are a EV Vocal Mic...not sure of teh model right now, and a Shure PG 81 condenser for my guitar. I play a taylor 310, which I used for both the acoustic and electric sounding guitars. The electric sound is an onboard effect of the br 532. I also used one of those little egg shaker things. Thanks for all the comments guys, they are really helpful......thanks grave for your feedback......yeah, it's just a capo on 3, and then play it like dave. I think it helped my vocal range in some aspects, and hurt it in others. But i'll continue to experiment with it. I knew It sounded like I went flat on some parts....oh well......thanks for the listen.
