so i want to start tapping......
im sure this has been a topic but i was wondering if anyone had any tips for me. i want to just understand how to even start top tap. ive played for 5 years so im a pretty decent player, i'd just like to widen my playing ability. any suggestions would be great. thanks guys!

Make sure to put your thumb directly behind the fretboard with your left hand, it'll be much harder to be accurate, but you'll get more sound out of it. TRUST ME, learn the right way first.
As far as your right hand, use more than one finger. Force yourself to use AT LEAST your pointer and middle fingers. I find for stability I press my thumb against the top of the fretboard. The top as in to the left of the low E string.

theres really no way to explain it... just press real hard a bunch of times until sound comes out, you need to get the hang of it.
