streetcorner jams

Unread post by DRMusic » Wed Apr 06, 2005 11:17 am

i was down in panama city 2 weeks ago for spring break. between the yager shots and beer pong i managed to get out and play on the streetcorner outside our hotel one night. as it turned out, this was probably the most fun i had all week. the people i met were awesome (i.e. the girls from brooklyn, ny, who made me chug bacardi lemon while playing...or the girl from TN who was playing my guitar when she realized her nipple was out...).

anybody else into playing on the streetcorners? subways?

if so, wanted to know what you all are playing.

keep rockin,
steve

First it's Jager. Not Yager. I know because my blood is half Jagermeister. LOL!

Performing on the street, or busking as it is sometimes called takes guts and requires patience. It's also a lot of fun. For some time the whole scene was kind of stomped on due to post 9/11 security restrictions, meaning people were not allowed to play in subway stations in Boston. It may have loosened up a bit though.

I find it's better to jam or play bluesy type songs that you can goto town on for a long period since most people only hear you in passing.

Peace,

C
