Going to see John Williams tonight.

This is the place to talk about guitar playing not done by Dave! Topics about techniques, styles, theory, and other guitarists go here.

Has anyone else here seen him before? For those who don't know, I am refering to the classical guitarist, not the movie soundtrack composer. I think his guitar talent is incredible. I have some pretty close seats at the Kimmel Center in philly.

Ok, so here is the deal. I will post a link to a song of his incase anyone is interested in hearing what he sounds like. Please right click and do save as. If anyone has a problem with me posting this, I will take it down. The way I see it, no one even knows of John Williams, so allowing people to feely hear a song can only help him, not hurt him. http://astro.temple.edu/~green00/sunburst.mp3

EDIT: By the way, this song is called Sunburst, it was composed by Andrew York and is being played by John Williams in double drop D.

my how small is your musical knowledge...John Williams is one of hte most reknowned classical guitarists in the world. His name is not nearly as well known as Dave, but for obvious reasons!

To any serious guitar player, John Williams should be more well known than Dave Matthews. I never really listen to him, but I've heard unbelievably good things about him in my music theory class and from fellow musicians

John Williams causes one to be still in his seat, fearing the very sound of breathing might disturb the waves which emit at each pluck of the string.

By the way, the soundtrack composer is an incredible guitarist as well.
Stay with me, safe and ignorant.
