Tripping Billies: muting B and high-E or let them ring?

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Tripping Billies: muting B and high-E or let them ring?

Unread post by borocks » Thu Dec 12, 2002 5:09 pm

In the intro and chorus part, the tab says that the E and the G string are hit, the A and the D are marked with a "x", so I have to mute them. But what is about the B and high E? Do they have to ring or not? If I mute them, it won't sound as full as in the song... however, do you know how Dave plays it or what is the better thing?

Thanx for your help
Peace Bo.

sorry to say this but the B and high E strings are definately muted. you can let the D string ring out all you want to have a more full sound, but the high strings aren't played.

peace,
Ken
