I don't think you can even compare them because they are at two different ends of the spectrum.

Tim is a solo guitar guy I guess you could say and Dave is more rythmic and a songwriter.

Hopefully I got my point across.

Maybe try comparing Dave to someone as, lets say Jack Johnson and Tim to some other gutarist more on his level.

They are both however damn good at what they do.

i enjoy jack johnson too, i find his voice gets a bit old after 4 or 5 consecutive songs... still like him though

i was able to see that guy play a few years ago, i think he is somewhat religious(christian). i've heard that he was rated like fourth-best(in the world)fingerstyle guitar player. he does such amazing things with a guitar, i mean struming with your fret hand and making chords with your strumming hand and vis versa.
