Take my breath away?

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Its cool how he incorporates familiar melodies into his wierd intro and outros and segues. I honestly don't see how dave plays norweigan wood as an intro to LIOG. It need a capo 2nd fret to sound right and dave never usesa capo.

Wasn't this intro written by Timmy?

It sounds to dave-like to be written by timmy. Timmy seems so utilize scales and progression, and dave just plays random stuff in a certain key to see if it sounds good. Kinda like rhyme and reason and the stone.

That is the intro to OSW listed on this site. I absolutely love that intro. A good version is the 7.24.03 Phoenix show. Dave plays through a few times, then the band comes in and plays a while before going into OSW.

The only part of it that sounds like Take My Breath Away are the last 5 notes.

BTW, TMBA was done by Berlin in the 80's.
Peace,

Stunt

It's funny.. They played it at The Gorge first night. It sounded like Dave screwed it up and then tried to make a comeback but then gave up shortly afterwards. Leroi ended up playing it while Dave was drinking his tea.

I read somewhere that at that Gorge show there was technical difficulties on that intro and he just finally let Butch take it...So, maybe it wasn't Dave messing up...

Huh? I was there and I didn't notice a thing. Probably all for the best. Damn good OSW though. So much better than the cruddy RTT version. The RTT version sounds like a jingle in a QFC commercial.
