I'm currently in the process of saving about $4000 (Canadian) and putting it towards either an HD-28V or 710, so, as you can probably tell by that statement, I'm currently undecided. That said, I can't even remember what a Taylor sounds like to me. However, I've played an HD-28V recently and, based...

Tommy Emmanuel
I think some pieces from Tommy Emmanuel would be great to be able to play. I've nailed down a few (Angelina, Endless Road, Green Thumb). Some of his independent bassline fingerpicking is amazing, plus the sense of melody that's more than just shredding... FWIW, I *did* learn how to play Cliffs of Do...

Re: This pisses me off!!

Anyone ever run into people when their playing and you ask them about their guitar and they have no clue what model or woods are in it. Pisses me off, I own a Washburn D8 ($219.99) and I know EVERYTHIN...

i said no hating please so nobody would hate on what a cocky ass i was being in my first post. i was just super excited about the guitar. So you knew you were being a cocky ass...? Maybe instead of saying "no hating", you could be less of a cocky ass. Just a thought. So, where are the recordings? :)

One thing that's nice is big thumbs, for playing chords commonly used by John Mayer, to fret the bass note with your thumb. Hand size is something that is basically just an excuse though, either you have big hands or small hands, just make do (due?) with what you have. Like you said, work with what...

Re: LIOG tab thats on this site
go put on some headphones and listen to LIOG and tell me you dont hear another chord before the D. My girlfriend has tons of sheet music cuz shes studying music. The DMB music books that she has that have LIOG show those open strings. [b]She said that based on music theory it would make sense to go...

Learning sheet music is nice, knowing tabs is fine, but ultimately not having to use music at all is probably the best. Sheet music is overrated. Wow... I couldn't disagree more. I guess if you just want to play for fun and don't plan on doing much with it, then fine. If you really want to be a mus...
